The Aston Valley Baseball League was formed in 1962 by Mr. Sam Erb. At that time, Aston was a small but growing community. Initially it was made up of neighborhood teams from Aston Manor and Valley View. As the township grew, teams from Woodbrook, Aston Farms, Village Green Knolls, and Green Ridge were added. In 1973, township commissioners assisted in the constructed of the baseball fields off Weir Road where the bulk of the leagues' fields are today. The teener division was added in 1978 with the School Board allowing the league to use two fields at Sun Valley. Buggy Field at Sun Valley High School was contructed in conjunction with Penn Delco School District and was completed for use in 2001.

Aston Valley Baseball League started with 2 teams, 30 children and 6 adults. It has since grown into approximately 39 teams, 600 children, 87 coaches and managers, a 10 member executive board, and an untold number of parental volunteers.

Today about 600 area kids are involved in our Cal Ripkin/Babe Ruth League. Every year we have a number of our teams win our District Championships and make it onto the Pennsylvania State Tournaments.
